Downtown Green Bay Incorporated
Grant Programs
Downtown Green Bay, Inc.'s mission says we "will preserve and improve the… economic conditions in downtown...". One of the ways we do this is by reinvesting the BID monies back into the downtown through the Sign, Awning and Lighting Grant and the Façade Grant.
In both cases, the monies are reimbursed up to 50% or the maximum, whichever is less, and payable with proof of payment. For more information, see page two of the appropriate grant application form.
Façade Program
The Façade Program, which started in August of 2000, began with a contest requesting businesses interested in doing façade updates compete for the grand prize of up to $15,000.
The regular program is that Downtown Green Bay, Inc. will fund up to 50% of the cost for facade improvements for properties located within the Downtown Green Bay BID. The maximum grant is not to exceed $4,000 per address and applies to the front facade only. Grants will only be awarded to projects that are approved by the Urban Design Committee of DGBI prior to the start of work. A written confirmation from DGBI must be provided prior to construction.

Sign, Awning and Lighting Grant
The Sign, Awning and Lighting Grant program was started in June of 1999. Since that time, over $10,000 has been put back into the businesses that pay into the BID. DGBI will fund up to 50% of the cost of new signs, awnings or lighting for commercial properties located within the DGBI BID district. The maximum grant is not to exceed $1,000.00 per address and applies to the front façade only. Grants will only be awarded to projects that are approved by the Urban Design Committee of DGBI.
