What: Peace Tree Lighting Ceremony
When: Thursday, November 16, 2006, 6:00 p.m.
Where: The Peace Tree will be in the KI Convention Center Rotunda located at the corner of Adams and Main Street in downtown Green Bay.
This year will mark the 19th year for the annual Peace Tree Lighting. Children from area schools will be invited to make ornaments decorated with a peace theme which will be hung on the tree. The Green Bay Chapter of People To People has been the sponsor of the Peace Tree for many years dating back to the Vietnam War. The local chapter is involved in hosting inter-national groups when they visit the area and members of the group travel to Europe where part of each trip is spent in private homes.
